Custom colorPol® Polarizers

Maximum Flexibility for Your Individual Requirements

AR Coating

An anti-reflective coating can be applied on one or both sides to optimize optical performance:

  • Increased transmission for better light throughput
  • Reduced reflection to minimize light loss

Shape and Size

Dimensions can be selected in 0.1 mm increments up to the product-specific maximum sizes. Tighter tolerances are available upon request.

By default, colorPol® polarizers are manufactured in rectangular or circular shapes. Additional geometries are available upon request.

    Mounting

All circular colorPol® polarizers can be delivered in the following standard mounts. A general specification of the standard mounts can be found here.

    Diameter [mm]Clear Aperture [mm]Length [mm]
    12.5 e88.15 or 7
    25.0 e820.85 or 10

Custom mount diameters are available upon request. Additionally, you can send us special mounts, and we will take care of mounting the polarizer for you.

    • Facilitated handling
    • Marked polarization axis for easy alignment
    • Reduced temperature resistance due to the mount

    Lamination and Polishing

Lamination enhances both the optical and mechanical properties. The polarizer is fixed between two optical glass layers using optical adhesive and then polished.

    • Transmitted wavefront distortion (TWD): < λ/4 (at 633 nm over Ø10 mm)
    • Beam deviation: < 1 arc min.

The standard thickness of laminated and polished colorPol® is 2.0 mm. Other thicknesses are available upon request.

    Polarization Axis

The polarization axis can be freely selected with an accuracy of 0.5°. For unmounted polarizers, the polarization axis can be marked with two dots upon request.

Tip: If the polarization axis in a rectangular format is parallel to an edge, choose different edge lengths.
This makes it easier to identify the polarization axis.

    Structuring

Unlike conventional linear polarizers, which have identical optical properties across the entire clear aperture, structured polarizers can be divided into segments with different properties.

    • Customization of the polarization axis, wavelength range, or transparency
    • Size, shape, and number of segments determine the appropriate manufacturing technology
