codixx AG has launched two new ZIM projects aimed at further advancing the development and application of our SERS substrates. Both projects are designed to systematically expand the performance, flexibility, and practical usability of SERS-based analytical solutions.

A particular added value of the projects lies in the collaboration with outstanding scientific partners. With TU Berlin and Leibniz-IPHT Jena, codixx is supported by two renowned research institutions that contribute their specific expertise in materials development and processing, photonics, and application-oriented analytics to the projects.

The first project was launched in February 2026 together with TU Berlin. Its focus is on the further development of the SERS substrates themselves. This includes the use of gold nanoparticles instead of silver, as well as the improvement of substrate performance. The objective is to investigate new material and structural approaches in order to enable SERS substrates to be tailored even more effectively to different analytical requirements in the future.

The second project began in June 2026 together with Leibniz-IPHT Jena. This project focuses on a specific medical application. As part of the project, a point-of-care SERS application for the detection of drugs in blood is being developed and tested. The aim is to use our SERS substrates for sensitive, reproducible, and patient-oriented detection methods.

With these two ZIM projects, codixx is strengthening the technological foundation of its SERS development while also broadening its perspective on practical applications in research, industry, and medical analytics. The collaboration with these strong research partners underlines our ambition not only to further develop SERS substrates technologically, but also to make them specifically usable for relevant fields of application.
